Cypress Receipting ("the App") is a point-of-sale and EFRIS e-invoicing app for shops using the Cypress EFRIS platform. This page explains what information the App handles and why.

The App does not collect contacts, location, camera/microphone data, or any data not directly entered as part of making a sale.
Sales data is submitted to your business's Cypress client-portal account, which issues the corresponding tax invoice through Uganda's EFRIS (Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution) on your behalf, and makes the sale available to your business's own retail-erp system. This is solely to fulfil EFRIS e-invoicing requirements and your own business's sales records — it is not used for advertising or profiling.
To keep working without an internet connection, the App keeps a local copy of your product catalog and any sales made while offline, stored only on the device, until they can be sent to client-portal. This data is removed from the device once successfully submitted. Your device PIN/cashier PIN is stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text.
Sales/invoice data is shared only with: (1) Uganda's EFRIS system, as legally required for e-invoicing, and (2) your own business's client-portal and retail-erp systems. The App does not share data with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party, and contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Sales/invoice records are retained in your business's client-portal and retail-erp systems per your business's own retention practices and EFRIS's legal requirements.
The App is a business tool for shop staff and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children.
